Wow, Guess We Ain't Going to Sweden

I knew Sweden was known for being one of the more advanced countries when it came to getting women into positions of power, but I had no idea how far and invasive the concept of "gender neutrality" has permeated the psyche over there. And I'm not talking about something legitimate like a "pay gap." I'm talking about things where people are complaining about playgrounds being sexist and girls being denied the right to wear pretty clothes when they're in gymnastics class because that would define gender.

It's an insightful and scary piece, but I have a simple question;

Where the hell are all the men in Sweden?????

State policy must only apply to indigenous Swedes. Their immigrant hordes subjugate their women to the point of treating them worse than dogs, and the State just looks the other way....

The men of political power in Sweden are women as well. At least that's the case in my home country, Norway. You'll find all your crusaders in Scandinavia, the situation is terrible. Just have a look at this guy, who most definitely is a feminist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audun_Lysbakken

"Equality between women and men, girls and boys demands no less than a fundamental change of society."

The loony left are forever trying to force square pegs into round holes!

This is true Nazism! The government demanding how a family structures itself, is a Nazis policy. Insisting that playgrounds are not gender neutral, and dictating what kids can wear in gym class. Good Lord!
Everyone should be offended by these policies.
I must say I have heard these types of Feminazi suggestions for years.I guess it is time for people to stop laughing, and say enough is enough.

Then again check out the affirmative action laws, and you soon realize these Swedish gender policies are a possibility.

I'm here, still in Sweden but planning to leave. Even though I detest the current and historical government presence in ordinary peoples lives I find that the international story about Sweden is (understandably though) exaggerated.

It is true that Sweden in general trusts and likes government intervention. We were thought in school that government looked after you even though it made mistakes sometimes. (I don't)

As for feminism, it is the religion together with environmentalism. But it has lost a lot of clout since its height in the 90s. I would actually say that its receding due to that the women who were the most militant (my sister for example) in the 90s has realized that the status chase doesn't make them happier.

Of course the old guard of lesbian feminist leaders and their party are still around, and they still have a certain clout among the SWPLs (who work in newspapers). The legacy of the super-extreme feminism in the 90s are the horde of gender studies majors who has by now started researching.

About every week or so, you get a new report about something being sexist but only the core SWPLs are still listening.

If you want I could explain more about the Swedish political climate, as its often just used as a bat in political discourse.
