Recession Medicine

Funniest thing I've read in about 3 years.

That seemed utterly mindless. Especially the line at the end about "Have I convinced you?" Who was it aimed for? People who have been in a job 1 3/4 years wondering if they should stay or leave?

It is Orwellian in its Newspeak. Slavery is freedom, Choice is limiting and sticking a boring, underpaid "taken for granted" job is beneficial ...

Keep drinking the Kool Aid sheeple.

The author is trying to convince himself and maybe his employees

You give me a job where any of that is possible and I will be happy to stick around! I wish I had a dime for every fart sucker that has promised me that at an interview, and then confronted me with a dead end job the minute I agree to sign on.

The blurb I heard was that 1 in 2 people have had their current job longer than 2 years. 1 in 4 has held their current job for longer than 5.

I change jobs quite regularly. I have worked contract too. All of the things mentioned in that article are up for negotiation before the job starts.

Also, working for less money in exchange for hugs, kisses, and motivational posters is ... I don't have words to describe that kind of stupid.

I find it easy to be loyal to people. Companies are an abstraction.

Whoever wrote that must still be stuck in the 60's.
