Keep up the good work, Captain. I, Sorcerygod, am holding the flame for you.

You know, when you post these things -- and send them out into the ether -- you fret that nobody notices them, that it's a waste, both of time and of effort, and that the universe even laughs at you.

Rest assured, you are affecting things. I still want to employ you some day, and ... well, let's leave it at that.

You're not the only one sending things out into the ether.

It would be fking nice if the housing/land prices would just collapse already. Cuz I hate living in my parents house, but I cannot justify buying or renting at these current prices.

Concerning the "racist comic", here's the problem, at least as I see it.

What it boils down to is that these comic companies keep trying to appeal to an audience that has no real interest in the market (namely, blacks and girls) to begin with. There's nothing wrong with that, it just isn't their thing.

So what these writers end up doing is focusing on the most extreme stereotypes of black culture and "female empowerment" themes to draw the target audience in, typically by vilifying white males (mostly because those are the only people we're allowed to vilify nowadays), in a seemingly sure fire way to lure them in.

The problem is, while the target audience may like the IDEA of these ideologies in the comics, they still don't actually READ them. They're no more into comics than they were before, resulting in no real increase in sales on their part.

Meanwhile, the ones who DO read and purchase comics, typically white males, are seeing themselves depicted as villains and having their favorite characters appropriated (yeah, I know, sorry for using that word) by other races and genders, get understandably pissed off, and stop buying the comics, resulting in LOST sales.

Final point before I leave. Aaron mentioned how leery he was about the Wonder Woman movie. I can't blame him, given the current saturation of, as he would say, feminist "roundhouse kicking chick cop" themes in the entertainment industry.

This particular Wonder Woman comic ("Wonder Woman: Earth One"), which I browsed through last year while at Barnes and Nobles, only reinforced my own apprehensions. Wonder Woman is much more of a feminist now, as opposed to the more "fish out of water" than she used to be... and Steve Trevor is now black.

The second I saw that, I KNEW that this was done so that there could be a comparison with the oppression of the black man with the oppression of women, and God damn, the comic didn't disappoint, for that's EXACTLY what he did.

By the way, here's the link to an article about the comic:

By the way... how many brothers and girls do you think have actually read this comic?
